Bavarian Emigration Requests

The names of emigrants from the Pfalz region of Bavaria were extracted from notices in official Bavarian legal newspapers. These notices were published to inform the public about those people who were preparing to emigrate so that any monetary claims could be settled. The current dataset covers the years between 1831 and 1842. The digitized newspapers continue until 1878, so more names will be added in the future.
